Then on your second run, try out some new stuff.

Personally if your first go at WOTC, play with no mods or just basic ones, and enjoy the game as it is. For example, there are two Evac all mods, pick the right one.

Though of course, WOTC if not played before is a challenge in itself until you learn what they can do.Īlso take great care that each mod you use is actually WOTC compatible! There are many mods you'll find that aren't, or that conflict with each other. In terms of balance, if using new classes and weapons etc you should also be adding new harder enemies. The more mods you use, the more likely game is to bug out! More than 6 soldiers will likely cause your game to either break or glitch out. Bear in mind if you mod for new classes, on auto promotion you can end up at the start at least with too many of non vanilla soldiers, which isn't always a good thing.

You will likely need more mods for new weapons etc too if non Kaskrin. Not strong enough to go on the final missions.Kaskrin is a great class to use - I've tried a few others but this is my favourite, the others did not like at all. Spark: great mid game, when you're struggling with injured or tired soldiers. Great group control, helpful to teammates and doesn't rely on aim. PsiOps: once they reach a critical level you won't want to leave them back in base. He's the unit I tend to get killed the most. He's got great mobility and some very unique abilities, but he has very low aim and base damage. The templar however is a double edged sword, and if you're not careful, you'll start activating pods ahead of time. Get him bladestorm and fortress and he's the most fun unit in the game. Templar: Can take on any single enemy on his own. Then he gets death from above and the hunter's rifle and he's death incarnate. Never take him on missions where you need to evac in a fixed number of turns. A searchable list of all XCOM 2 class IDs, along with help and examples for the MakeSoliderAClass console command, which you can use the class IDs with. He also struggles on underground missions or when he can't get on a rooftop. Holo targeting is great against enemies with high dodge. Destroying armor is essential throughout the game. Grenades are guaranteed damage and should be used liberally. Grenedeer: Extremely strong early game, then slightly weaker as other units level up. Great against robots, can win hack missions on his own, can protect, heal and revive squadmates. A reaper can solo a number of missions with enough patience. I dread the missions when my reaper isn't available. Great scout early game, great assassin from lieutenant onwards. Solid through all stages of the game, though you won't win with only rangers. I think they're all useful, but each at different stages of the game.

Their PSI abilities are seriously game changing if you use them wisely. Overall I think you overvalue sharpshooters while undervaluing Templars and Psi Operatives. Skirmishers terrible early-mid game makes them the worst class in my eyes. Late game Skirmishers outclass grenadiers and actually become quite strong but late game everyone is strong anyway. Overall I think Skirmishers are the weakest class while Reapers are the strongest overall. They all have potential to be strong at different points in the campaign. I don't think there are any truly 'weak' classes. Sure they have much less damage output but you basically want one on every mission in the mid-late game. I also wouldn't say specialists are weak. If your 'risk v reward' senses are highly developed then you can avoid triggering new pods while using their OP melee and psi abilities to maximum degree. Templars are also very, very strong but also require extreme precision when playing. The only one that comes close is Ranger if they happen to roll the 'Serial' ability in the training center. The Chosen are worthy adversaries who advance along with you to put up great fights without feeling cheap, and the new elite soldier classes add opportunities for. Reaper is the strongest class in the game in my opinion. War of the Chosen is a wide and deep expansion for XCOM 2 that improves variety in mission objectives, tactical options, threats, and strategic map activities. XCOM: Enemy Unknown - The Complete Edition USD 49.99 USD GAME DESCRIPTION XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, is the expansion to the 2016 award-winning strategy game of the year.
